He married Maggie M. Carpenter on the 18 June 1917, Hastings. His surname is given as "Laisney" in Jersey records. His father Peter Francis Laisney was a wall mason. Arthur appears in the 1901 and 1911 Jersey censuses, in the latter as an assistant draper. He was born in Jersey.
His widow has been born in Tunbridge Wells, Kent in 1891. In the 1911 census she was a draper's cashier in Horsham, Sussex. She sailed to Canada in August 1926 and five days after landing at Quebec she married at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Arthur Francis Smith (1875-1969), an accountant and widower, with three children, who had been in Canada since 1904, by whom she had one daughter. She died 5 April 1957, Saskatoon.
