George Holder was the son of Mary Jane nee Whitfield as far as I can deduce. She was a widow from the 1891 Census onwards - George was her last child; her husband was a soldier. The marriage of George Holder (son of Stephen) and Mary Jane Whitfield took place in Chelsea in 1873. They had 7 children between then and 1884 when George Jnr. was born in St. Leonards on Sea. in 1939 this George and Mary were living at 10 Mount Pleasant Crescent in Hastings.

Thank you June, I've updated the post with this info.
Join the discussion George Holder was the son of Mary Jane Whitfield and she was the daughter of John Whitfield and his wife Sarah. The Whitfield family came from the North east and moved to Sussex between the 1861 and 1871 census returns.
Thank you for the information Rita, Kind Regards, Kieron
