Other Info: Son of the late William Plester of the 17th Leicester’s. Formerly of the 1st Hooe Scouts. According to CWGC, William died aged 17 on 16th July 1915. He is remembered at Hooe (St Oswald) Churchyard.

  • The reference to HoVe is incorrect, and should in all cases refer to Hooe. it was William’s brother, Frank, that persuaded Lord Brassey to found the Hooe Scouts, and they ran messages along the coast at the start of the War. Refer to Ninfield Local History group for further details.
