This man was born 4 July 1900 in the Hackney registration district, Middlesex.
In the 1901 census he was with his parents in his widowed grandmother Marion Turner’s house in Hackney (she was a schoolmistress).
In the 1911 census he was in his parents’ household at 7-roomed 35 Queen’s Avenue, Stretford, Lancashire, the eldest of three sons. His father was an insurance manager.
He died at St John’s Hospital, Hastings having, apparently, only joined as a cadet on the 15 July 1918.
